A Look Back in Time

Millersburg is one of the oldest settlements in Callaway County. It was founded not long after Missouri became a state in 1821. In 1829, the community was officially planned out. It was located along an old path called the "Boone's Lick" trail, which was important for travel in the early 1800s. The community got its name from an early settler named Thomas Miller, who came from Kentucky. A post office opened in Millersburg in 1830 and served the community for many years, finally closing in 1953.
