Mina Napartuk (1913 – 2001) was a talented Canadian Inuit artist. She was famous for making beautiful things from fabric and fur. She also managed a special craft shop for women in a place called Kuujjuarapik.

Mina Napartuk was born in 1913. Her hometown was Kuujjuarapik in Quebec, Canada. From a young age, she learned traditional skills. She became very good at working with fur, animal skins, and different fabrics.

Her Amazing Artworks

Mina used her skills to create many unique items. She made lovely dolls and warm clothing. One type of clothing she made was kamiks, which are traditional Inuit boots. She also created special wall-hangings. These beautiful fabric artworks were known as akinnamiutak.

Managing the Craft Shop

In the 1980s, Mina took on an important role. She became the manager of the women's craft shop in Kuujjuarapik. This shop focused on making traditional crafts from the area. It helped keep old art forms alive.

Later Life and Exhibitions

In the mid-1980s, Mina moved to Umiujaq. This town was close to her birthplace. Her amazing artwork was shown in many places.

Her art was part of several important exhibitions, including:

  • Things Made by Inuit at La Federation des Cooperatives du Nouveau-Quebec.
