Miss Vickie's is a popular brand of potato chips. These chips are known for being extra crunchy because they are "kettle cooked." This means they are cooked in small batches, like in a big pot or kettle. Miss Vickie's chips come in many yummy flavours. You can find them in Canada, the United States, and parts of Europe.

The idea for Miss Vickie's chips came from Vickie Kerr. She used a special recipe from her mother. Vickie changed the recipe a little bit. She added peanut oil to cook the chips. Today, the chips are no longer cooked with peanut oil.

The Story of Miss Vickie's Chips

How It All Started

The original recipe for these chips came from Vickie and Bill Kerr. They lived on a potato farm in New Lowell, Ontario, Canada. They wanted to make delicious, crunchy potato chips.

In 1987, the chips were first sold at the 14th annual Alliston Potato Festival. People at the festival loved them right away. All the chips sold out very quickly!

Growing Popularity

After their big success, the chips started to be made and sold from Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Over the next few years, Miss Vickie's chips became very popular across Canada. They even held 1% of the national chip market.

On February 1, 1993, a company called Hostess Frito-Lay bought Miss Vickie's. This helped the chips become even more widely known.
