Mister Maker Comes to Town is a super fun children's TV show all about art and crafts! It's a spin-off from the popular show Mister Maker. This creative series first aired in 2010 and finished in 2011. It was made for CBeebies, a BBC channel for younger viewers.

Because it was so popular, more shows followed! These included Mister Maker Around the World, Mister Maker's Arty Party, and Mister Maker At Home. These shows continued to inspire kids to get creative.

What Happens in an Episode?

Every episode of Mister Maker Comes to Town is packed with exciting art challenges and games. Mister Maker travels around in his special "Makermobile" to help kids with their art projects.

The Makermobile and Mini Makers

At the start of each show, Mister Maker builds his amazing Makermobile using everyday objects. He then magically shrinks himself to fit inside! The adventure begins when Tocky, a friendly cuckoo clock, gives Mister Maker a "Mini Maker message." This message is from a child who needs help with a creative idea.

The child tells Mister Maker what they want to make or what old things they have to use. This gives Mister Maker an idea for a cool new project! He gathers all the supplies he needs from his "Doodle drawers." If he can't find something, he honks his horn to call Scraps. Scraps is a blue puppet with a scarf, a hat, and googly eyes, and he always has what Mister Maker needs!

After they finish their art project, Mister Maker often says how much he loves being out and about in the Makermobile. He enjoys seeing new things and getting creative.

Shape Dance and Games

Suddenly, Mister Maker hears a noise, and colorful shapes fly out! He and the shapes do a silly song and dance. After the dance, a random shape (like a circle, triangle, square, or rectangle) appears. Mister Maker then challenges viewers to find how many of that particular shape are hidden in a picture or around them. It's a fun way to learn about shapes!

Minute Make Time

Next, Tocky appears on the "Makervideophone" to announce "Minute Make Time!" Mister Maker quickly goes to a new location. There, he has just one minute to create something amazing. He usually finishes his project right before the timer runs out, showing how much you can make in a short time.

Colored Kids and Big Surprise

After the Minute Make, the "colored kids" appear on the videophone. They are dressed in different colored costumes and ask Mister Maker to guess what they would make with their chosen color. It's a fun guessing game that sparks imagination.

Then comes "A Big Surprise!" Mister Maker surprises some kids who weren't expecting him. The kids tell Mister Maker what they would like to do or make. This gives Mister Maker another idea for a new art project. While he's making it, he often suggests that viewers try making something similar at home.

Time to Go

The show ends with Tocky telling Mister Maker it's "Time to go." Mister Maker then puts his Makermobile back into his art box, ready for the next adventure.
