Mr. Quayes held many high-level positions. In 2014, he became the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil. He served in Brazil until March 2017. Before that, from 2012 to 2014, he was the High Commissioner for Bangladesh in the United Kingdom. A High Commissioner is like an Ambassador, but for countries in the Commonwealth.
Before his time in the United Kingdom, he was the Foreign Secretary. This is a top job in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh. He also served as the Ambassador to Russia. Before his work in Russia, he was the High Commissioner for Bangladesh in the Maldives.
