A Surgeon in the Spanish Civil War
During the Spanish Civil War, which happened from 1936 to 1939, Moisès Broggi worked as a special kind of doctor called a field surgeon. This meant he worked close to the fighting, helping injured soldiers right on the battlefield. He worked for the International Brigades, which were groups of volunteers from different countries who came to help during the war. His job was to save lives and treat serious injuries in very difficult conditions.
