Who Designed Monona Terrace?
The famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright first designed Monona Terrace. He changed his plans for the building many times over the years. Even though Wright designed the outside, the inside was planned by Anthony Puttnam. Anthony Puttnam was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.
When Was it Built?
The Monona Terrace building was constructed by J.H. Findorff and Son Inc. This company is a builder from southern Wisconsin. The building was completed in 1997.
What Can You Do at Monona Terrace?
Monona Terrace is a very busy place! It hosts over 600 events each year. These events include big meetings, conventions, and even weddings.
Monona Terrace also offers many free programs for the community. About 56,000 people enjoy these programs every year. You can also take a guided tour of the building. There's a gift shop where you can find souvenirs. In warm weather, you can visit the rooftop cafe.
Many fun community events happen here too. These include the radio show Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know?. Other events are Dane Dances and the Ironman Wisconsin race. U.S. Bank Eve is also held at Monona Terrace.
