Monroe Mills is a small, quiet place in Knox County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a town or city with its own local government.
History
Monroe Mills got its name from a special building called a gristmill. This mill was built way back in 1844. A gristmill is a place where grain, like wheat or corn, is ground into flour.
The community is located in Monroe Township. A post office opened in Monroe Mills in 1849. People could send and receive mail there for many years. The post office stayed open until 1902.
