Moody is a small, unincorporated community located in the southwestern part of Howell County, Missouri, in the United States. The community of Moody has a history stretching back many years. A post office was first opened in Moody in 1880, which means people have been sending and receiving mail there for over 140 years! The area was named after an early pioneer citizen. This same person also gave their name to Moody Creek, a small stream located just north of where the community stands today.
