Moonrise (Warriors) facts for kids
Moonrise is the second exciting book in the Warriors: The New Prophecy series. This popular book series is all about wild cats living in different groups called Clans. Moonrise takes place in the same forest where the first Warriors books happened. But this adventure also explores new places like tall mountains, thick woods, open moorlands, and even the big ocean!
The Journey Home
This part of the Warriors: The New Prophecy story follows a group of brave Clan cats. They are on a long journey back home after a big adventure at the Tribe of Rushing Water. These cats had to fulfill a special prophecy, which is like a very important prediction. The prophecy said they needed to save the Tribe from a dangerous creature.
Facing Sharptooth
The Tribe of Rushing Water was in trouble because of a huge, fierce mountain lion named Sharptooth. This big cat was hunting the Tribe's cats. The Tribe believed that a special "silver cat" would save them. They thought this cat was Stormfur, a RiverClan cat who was part of the traveling group.
At first, the Tribe held Stormfur, thinking he was their only hope. The Clan cats helped Stormfur get away. But they felt bad for the Tribe and decided to go back to help them.
A Brave Sacrifice
One of the young Clan cats, Squirrelpaw, came up with a clever plan. They tried to trick Sharptooth by leaving a rabbit filled with special berries. The idea was that Sharptooth would eat the rabbit and become sick.
However, their plan did not work as they hoped. Sharptooth was still a threat. When the mountain lion was about to attack Crowpaw, a brave cat named Feathertail stepped in. She bravely sacrificed herself to save Crowpaw. Feathertail managed to defeat Sharptooth, but she also lost her own life in the process. Her bravery saved the Tribe and her friends.
Trouble Back Home
While the traveling cats were away, big problems were happening back in their forest home. Giant machines, which the cats call "Twoleg monsters," were destroying parts of the forest. These machines belong to humans, whom the cats call "Twolegs." Because of this destruction, more and more ThunderClan cats started to disappear. The Clans' homes were changing, and they faced new dangers.
