Mordechai "Motti" Mishani (born April 10, 1945 – died April 9, 2013) was an Israeli politician. He was a member of the Knesset, which is like Israel's parliament. He served from 2001 to 2003, representing two political groups: One Israel and Gesher.

Early Life and Career

Motti Mishani was born in Tel Aviv. This was during a time called the Mandate era. After finishing school, he studied law. He then worked as a lawyer for many years.

Journey to the Knesset

Mishani was part of the Gesher political party. In the 1999 elections, Gesher joined with other parties to form an alliance called One Israel. This alliance included the Labor party and Meimad. Motti Mishani was 29th on their list of candidates.

The One Israel alliance won 26 seats in the election. This meant Mishani did not get a seat at first. However, on February 17, 2001, he joined the Knesset. He took the place of another politician named Eli Goldschmidt.

Changing Political Groups

Soon after Mishani joined, his party, Gesher, left the One Israel alliance. On March 7, 2001, Gesher became an independent party in the Knesset. This meant they were no longer officially part of the larger group.

Before the 2003 elections, Mishani joined a different party called Likud. However, he was placed 102nd on their list of candidates. Because of this, he did not win a seat in the new election. He left the Knesset after serving for about two years.

Later Life

Motti Mishani passed away on April 9, 2013, just one day before his 68th birthday.
