Morning Sun is a small, unincorporated community in Preble County, Ohio, United States. It is located in the southeastern part of Israel Township. This community is part of the larger Dayton area. You can find it about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south of Fairhaven. It sits where State Routes 177 and 732 meet Morning Sun Road. It is also just north of Hueston Woods State Park.
History of Morning Sun
Morning Sun was officially planned and laid out in 1833. People say the community got its name from a beautiful sunrise. The first settlers were trying to pick a name. A bright sunrise happened right then, and they decided to call their new home "Morning Sun." A post office opened here in 1836. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. The post office closed its doors in 1948.

Morning Sun has been home to some interesting people!
- Richard Elihu Sloan was born here in 1857. He later became the last Governor of the Arizona Territory. This was before Arizona became a state.
- Rolla Ramsey was born in Morning Sun in 1872. He became a professor of physics at Indiana University. He was also a pioneer in radio electronics. This means he was one of the first people to work with and understand radio technology.
