Mount Artxanda (called Artxanda mendia in Basque and Monte Archanda in Spanish) is a small mountain in Bilbao, Spain. It is one of two mountains that surround the city. The other one is Pagasarri.
Mount Artxanda is lower than Pagasarri. It is also closer to the city center. Over time, many buildings have been built on its slopes. A pass called Santo Domingo separates Artxanda from another peak, Monte Avril, which is taller at 400 meters.
Getting to the Top of Artxanda
You can easily reach the top of Mount Artxanda. The Artxanda Funicular is a special cable car system. It connects downtown Bilbao directly to the mountain's summit. This makes it simple for everyone to visit.
