Mowgli: The New Adventures of the Jungle Book is a fun live-action TV show based on the famous The Jungle Book stories by Rudyard Kipling. Unlike cartoons, a live-action show uses real actors and animals (or sometimes special effects to make them look real!).
This show gives the classic Mowgli story a modern twist. Mowgli, a boy raised by animals in the jungle, meets a new friend named Nahbiri. She's a young American girl who comes to Jabalpur, India, with her dad, who is a doctor. Together, they go on many exciting adventures in the jungle.
The series was created by Timothy Scott Bogart, Guy Toubes, and James Hereth. It was made by Wolfcrest Entertainment and Franklin/Waterman Worldwide. The show first aired in the United States on Fox Kids on February 7, 1998, and finished on August 1, 1998.
