NEMA (Boston) (also called 399 Congress Street) is a tall building being built in the Seaport area of Boston, Massachusetts. This 22-story tower will have both homes and a few shops. It is located near East Service Road, Congress Street, and Boston Wharf Road.
When it's finished in Fall 2019, the tower will be 274 feet (about 83.5 meters) tall. It was designed by two companies, Stantec and Group One Partners.
What is NEMA Boston?
This building is a "mixed-use" tower. This means it will be used for more than one thing. NEMA Boston will have 414 apartments where people can live. It will also have about 2,550 square feet of space on the ground floor for stores.

NEMA Boston will have many cool features for the people who live there. These include:

How NEMA Boston Came to Be
The land where NEMA Boston is being built was first bought in 2006. A company from Boston called Madison Properties paid $5.65 million for it.
In July 2013, the Boston Planning and Development Agency approved a plan for a mixed-use building there. This meant they agreed that a building with both homes and shops could be built.
Later, in 2016, another company named Crescent Heights bought the land and the approved plan. They paid $36 million for it. They planned to build 414 apartments.
Construction officially started after a building permit was filed on July 7, 2017. People can already start signing up to rent apartments there. The building is expected to be fully finished in Fall 2019.
