Nagako Konishi was born in a town called Agematsu, Nagano, in Japan. She loved music and studied hard. In 1971, she finished her studies at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
She continued to learn even more about music. She went to the University of California at Berkeley in the United States. Later, she became the head of the Japan Federation of Women Composers. This group helps women who write music.
In 1971, Nagako Konishi won a big award. She got the 1st Prize for Composition in the All-Japan Chorus League. This shows how good she was at writing music!
