Nakia Davis-Welsh, born on May 22, 1996, is a talented Australian rugby league player. She mainly plays as a fullback. Nakia has represented Australia internationally and played for her home state, New South Wales. Currently, she plays for the Parramatta Eels in the NRLW.

Nakia's Early Life and Family
Nakia Davis-Welsh grew up in Kempsey, New South Wales. Her father, Paul Davis, was also a rugby league player for the Balmain Tigers. She is also the cousin of famous Australian rugby league star Greg Inglis. Nakia went to Hunter Sports High School. She only started playing organized rugby league in 2012.

Starting Her Career: All Stars and State Games
In 2013, when Nakia was just 16 years old, she played for the Indigenous All Stars team. This was part of the yearly All Stars match.
In 2016, she made her first appearance for New South Wales. This was in the yearly Women's Interstate Challenge game against Queensland.
Club Success and International Debut
In 2017, Nakia played as a fullback for the Redfern All Blacks team. They won the NSW Women's Premiership Grand Final against North Newcastle. Nakia was the top try scorer in that competition, showing her amazing skills.
Later in 2017, she was chosen to be part of the Australia squad for the 2017 Women's Rugby League World Cup. She played her first international game for Australia in their win against the Cook Islands. On December 2, she played fullback in the World Cup final. The Jillaroos won the final 23-16 against New Zealand. Nakia played four games in the tournament and scored three tries.
Taking a Break and Future Plans
In June 2018, Nakia Davis-Welsh was one of the first fifteen players signed by the Sydney Roosters women's team. This team was part of the very first NRL Women's Premiership in September 2018. However, she did not play any games that season. She took a break from playing for personal reasons.
