Namal Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Namal valley, near Mianwali city in Pakistan. It's a special place in the Punjab region. This lake was formed a long time ago, in 1913, when the Namal Dam was built. The dam is about 32 kilometers (20 miles) away from Mianwali city.

Namal Lake covers a large area of about 5.5 square kilometers (2.1 square miles). On its western and southern sides, you can see mountains, which make the scenery very pretty. The other sides of the lake are surrounded by farms and fields.

Why is Namal Lake Important for Birds?

Namal Lake is a fantastic spot for birds, especially during the winter months. It becomes a cozy home for thousands of migratory birds that fly here from colder places. These birds include different kinds of waterfowls, like Russian ducks and even Siberian cranes. They travel long distances to spend the winter at Namal Lake, making it a lively and important wetland.
