Nan Agle facts for kids
Nan Hayden Agle (born April 13, 1905 – died February 14, 2006) was a talented American writer who created many books for kids. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Her parents were Charles Swett Hayden and Emily Spencer Hayden. Nan went to college at Goucher College and also studied art at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Nan taught art at the Friends School of Baltimore and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She was also part of a group called Delta Gamma. Nan worked with Ellen Wilson to write a popular series of children's books called the Three Boys series. These books were about the exciting adventures of three made-up triplet boys: Abercrombie, Benjamin, and Christopher. The first book, Three Boys and a Lighthouse, came out in 1951. It was so popular that they wrote many more stories about the triplets, even sending them on an adventure into space!
In 1973, Nan wrote a book called Susan's Magic, which was later renamed Susan and Sereena and the Cat's Place. She also wrote a book about the true adventures of a former slave. Nan lived to be 100 years old. She passed away at her home in Sykesville, Maryland, after a fall.
