She is also a minister and director of creative arts at Greater St. John M.E.R. in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Nancey Jackson Johnson released her first album, Nancey Jackson, in 1991. Her album Free (Yes I'm Free) became very popular in 1997. It even appeared on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. Her third album, Relationships, also charted well in 1999.
