Natalia Maria Kukulska, born on March 3, 1976, is a famous Polish singer. She sings pop and R&B music. In the 2010s, she started exploring electronic music. Natalia began her singing career as a child in 1986. Her first album for adults came out in 1996.
Some of her most popular songs are "Dłoń", "Piosenka światłoczuła", "Im więcej ciebie tym mniej", "W biegu", and "Wierność jest nudna". By 2014, she had sold over 1.8 million albums. She has also earned three platinum records and six gold records for her music.

About Natalia's Early Life
Natalia Kukulska was born in Warsaw, Poland. Her mother was Anna Jantar, a very popular singer in the 1970s. Sadly, Anna Jantar passed away in a plane crash in 1980. Natalia's father was Jarosław Kukulski, a well-known composer. He wrote songs for many other famous singers. Natalia also has a half-brother named Piotr Kukulski from her father's second marriage.
Natalia went to XXI Social High School in Warsaw. She finished school in 1995.
Natalia's Music Career
Natalia started singing professionally in 1984. In 1986, she released her first album, simply called Natalia. Two songs from this album, "Puszek Okruszek" and "Co powie tata", became very popular.
A year later, she released her second album, Bajki Natalki (Natalia's Fairy Tales). This album was a huge success. It earned her the first platinum record ever given in Polish music history! In 1991, she recorded her first CD of Christmas carols, called Najpiękniejsze kolędy (The Most Beautiful Christmas Carols).
Becoming a Pop Star
In 1996, Natalia released her first "adult" album, Światło (Light). The songs "Dłoń" and "Piosenka światłoczuła" from this album were big hits. They both reached number 32 on a popular Polish radio chart. The album also went gold because of its high sales. In 1995, she was nominated for a Fryderyk award. This is a very important music award in Poland.
In 1997, she released another album called Puls. Songs like "Im więcej ciebie tym mniej", "W biegu", and "Czy ona jest" became popular. She also sang her own version of Barbra Streisand's song "Woman in Love". Puls became a Double Platinum album just three months after it came out.
Singing for Movies
In November 1997, Natalia sang the song "Ani słowa" for the Disney animated movie Hercules. She performed it during the movie's premiere. In January 1998, she worked with a Dutch music group called R'n'G. They recorded a song together called "We'll Be Together". This song later appeared on their album in 2001 and was released across Europe.
In September 1998, Natalia recorded Polish versions of songs for the movie Quest for Camelot. She sang "On My Father's Wings" and a duet with Andrzej Piaseczny called "If I Didn't Have You". The movie's producer and composer, David Foster, chose her for these songs.
New Albums and Tributes
On March 1, 1999, Natalia released her album Autoportret (Self-portrait). Popular songs from this album included "Przychodzimy tylko raz" and "Skończyło się". The album also featured a new version of her mother's hit song "Tyle słońca w całym mieście".
In June 1999, Natalia performed at the 36th National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. She gave a concert and also performed with Mietek Szcześniak. In March 2000, an album called Tyle Słoń was released. This album was a recording of a concert held to remember her mother, Anna Jantar. Many famous Polish artists performed with Natalia at this event.
In April 2001, she released the album Tobie. This album was nominated for a Fryderyk award. Songs like "Niepotrzebny" and "Cicho ciepło" were promoted. The album also included a special song called "Z głębi serc", dedicated to Pope John Paul II. Tobie reached number 1 on the Polish music charts and went gold. Natalia performed at 10 outdoor concerts to promote the album, reaching over 600,000 people.
Theater and More Music
In April 2004, Natalia made her debut in musical theater. She played the main character, Kim, in the musical Miss Saigon at the Roma Musical Theater in Warsaw. In May 2005, a two-disc album called Po tamtej stron was released. The first disc had 20 songs by her mother, Anna Jantar. On the second disc, Natalia sang four of her mother's songs and a new song called "Po tamtej stron", which was written just for this album.
In November 2007, she released another album, Sexi Flexi. This album was produced by the duo Plan B. It received five nominations for the Fryderyk award and became a Gold Record. Songs like "Sexi Flexi" and "Pół na pół" were popular singles from this album.
Recent Projects
In October 2008, Natalia was interviewed for CNN's "Eye on Poland" program. In February 2010, she performed in a concert called "Our Contemporary Chopin". She sang Chopin's songs that were arranged by Adam Sztaba. In April, she started writing articles for Fashion Magazine.
In May 2010, Natalia and her husband, Michał Dąbrówka, released an album together called CoMix. The Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra also played on this album. In February 2012, she became a coach on the TV show "Bitwa na głosy". In 2016, she was also a coach on the seventh season of "The Voice of Poland".
In May 2018, she released an album called Search in Dreams. This album featured lullabies with lyrics by the musician Vladimir Vysotsky. She recorded it with jazz guitarist Marek Napiórkowski. The album won a Fryderyk award for "album of the year (music for children and youth)". In 2021, Natalia sang Adam Mickiewicz's "Invocation" in a TV show called "Zakochany Mickiewicz".
Natalia's Family Life
Natalia married musician Michał Dąbrówka in February 2000. They had been dating since 1990. Natalia and Michał live in Komorów, a town near Warsaw. Their first child, a son named Jan Dąbrówka, was born on June 24, 2000. He was named after Michał Dąbrówka's grandfather. On May 4, 2005, Natalia gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Anna Dąbrówka. Anna was named after Natalia's mother.
After her mother's passing, Natalia's grandmother, Halina Szmeterling, took care of her. Mrs. Szmeterling lived with Natalia and her great-grandchildren in Komorów until she passed away in September 2016 at the age of 92. On July 30, 2016, Natalia announced that she was expecting their third child. Their third daughter, Laura Dąbrówka, was born on January 5, 2017, in Warsaw.
Helping Others: Charitable Work
Natalia Kukulska is well-known for her charity work. She has performed many times at the finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which raises money for good causes. In 1997, she joined other Polish artists to record the song "Moja i Twoja nadzieja" (My and Your Hope). The money from this song helped people affected by floods.
In 2002, she took part in the "Cała Polska czyta Dzieciom" (All Poland Reads to Children) campaign. She read a fairy tale to her son and recorded a song and music video called "Wspomnienia są blisko" (Memories are near). In August 2005, she recorded the anthem for the TVN foundation, "Nie jesteś sam" (You are not alone), with other artists.
In November 2006, she started the "Konwój Muszkieterów" (Musketeers' Convoy) campaign. For this, she recorded a special CD with live versions of her hits. The money from this album helped buy Christmas gifts for children in orphanages. Natalia also visited three orphanages during this campaign.
On April 12, 2007, Natalia became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. She helped promote the "School for Africa" campaign, which aimed to build schools in Angola. Since 2012, she has also been an active ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages Association, helping children in need.
