Natalya Sergeyevna Bondarchuk was born on May 10, 1950. She is a famous actress and film director from Russia. Many people know her for her role as "Hari" in the movie Solaris, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. Natalya comes from a family of filmmakers. Her father was the well-known Soviet director and actor Sergei Bondarchuk. Her mother was the Russian actress Inna Makarova. She also has a half-brother, Fedor Bondarchuk, who is a film director and actor, and a half-sister, Yelena Bondarchuk, who was an actress.

About Natalya Bondarchuk
Natalya Bondarchuk was born in Moscow, the capital city of Russia. Her parents were both famous in the film world. She studied at a well-known film school called the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. She finished acting school in 1971 and directing school in 1975.
Early Acting Career
Natalya started acting in movies in 1969. Her first film was By the Lake by Sergei Gerasimov. She also appeared in You and Me (1971) and A Soldier Came Back from the Front (1971).
Her most famous role was "Hari" in the 1972 movie Solaris. This science fiction film was directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. Natalya loved playing Hari, and Tarkovsky himself thought she was amazing in the role.
Family Life
In 1973, Natalya met Nikolai Burlyayev while working on a film. They later got married. Their son, Ivan, was born in 1976. Both her husband and son have acted in her films.
Directing Films
Natalya Bondarchuk also became a film director. Her first directing work was an episode in the 1975 film Old Times in Poshekhonia. This was part of her studies at film school.
In 1982, she directed her first full-length movie, Zhivaya raduga (which means Living Rainbow). She also directed the films Bambi's Childhood in 1985 and Bambi's Youth in 1986. She has directed other movies, including God, hear my prayer (1991) and Pushkin: The Last Duel (2006).
Teaching and Theater Work
Since 1979, Natalya Bondarchuk has taught at the VGIK film school. She also runs a children's opera theater in Moscow. Her son, Ivan Burlyayev, used to sing in this theater when he was a child.
