Nathanaele Koll (born on April 4, 1992), known as Nathan Trent, is a singer from Austria. He became famous for representing his country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. His song was called "Running on Air". He finished in 16th place in the contest.

Nathan Trent's Early Life

Nathan Trent was born in Innsbruck, Austria, on April 4, 1992. His father, Reinhard Koll, is an Austrian violinist. His mother is Italian and comes from Trieste. Because of his parents, Nathan grew up speaking both Italian and German. He later studied music at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.

Eurovision Song Contest Journey

On June 18, 2016, Nathan Trent released his very first song, "Like It Is". Later that year, on December 19, 2016, it was announced that he would represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. His song for the contest, "Running on Air", came out on February 28, 2017.

At one point, Nathan was also considered to represent Germany in the same contest. However, rules from the European Broadcasting Union say that an artist cannot represent more than one country in the same year. So, he could only represent Austria. In the end, he placed 16th in the Eurovision Song Contest, earning 93 points.
