Cook Forest State Park is a beautiful place known for its tall trees and outdoor adventures. It's also home to two historic cabin areas. These cabins were built a long time ago and are still used today.

Indian Cabin District

The Indian Cabin District is one of these special areas within Cook Forest State Park. It's located near Cooksburg, off Pennsylvania Route 36. This district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 12, 1987. It's a great example of early park architecture.

River Cabin District

The River Cabin District is another historic spot in Cook Forest State Park. You can find it near Cooksburg, also off Pennsylvania Route 36. Like the Indian Cabin District, it was listed on the National Register on February 12, 1987. These cabins offer a glimpse into how people stayed in the park many years ago.

Anthony Wayne Cook Mansion

The Anthony Wayne Cook Mansion is a grand old house with a lot of history. It's located on River Drive in Barnett Township. This beautiful mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 19, 1979. It stands as a reminder of an important family in the area's past.

West Hickory Bridge

Bridges are often more than just ways to cross water; they can be historic landmarks too. The West Hickory Bridge was once a very important crossing over the Allegheny River at West Hickory. It connected Harmony and Hickory Townships.

This bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1988. Sadly, the original West Hickory Bridge was later taken down and replaced with a new one. Even though the old bridge is gone, its history is still remembered.
