History of Naturally Fresh
How the Company Started
Naturally Fresh began in 1966. It was first called Eastern Foods. The company was started by Robert H. Brooks, who also founded Hooters of America. Eastern Foods first sold non-dairy creamer to airlines.
In 1980, Eastern Foods introduced a new line of products under the name "Naturally Fresh." This brand became very popular. Because of its success, the company officially changed its name to Naturally Fresh, Inc. in 2002.
Changes in Ownership
In 2003, Robert Brooks retired. His son, Coby G. Brooks, became the President and CEO of the company. After Robert passed away in 2006, Coby took on a larger role in both Hooters and Naturally Fresh, Inc.
Later, in 2012, Naturally Fresh was bought by another large food company called TreeHouse Foods. TreeHouse Foods now owns Naturally Fresh, Inc.
