Nature's Path Foods, often called Nature's Path, is a company that makes certified organic food. It's owned by a family and isn't traded on the stock market. The company started out making breakfast cereals. Now, they offer more than 150 different food products!
Nature's Path was started in 1985 by Arran and Ratana Stephens. About 500 people work there. They have factories in Canada and the United States. Their products are sold in over 40 countries around the world. All their foods are vegetarian, meaning they don't contain meat. They are also certified organic, which means they are grown without many artificial chemicals. Plus, they are verified by the Non-GMO Project. This means they don't use genetically modified ingredients. Nature's Path is known for being a "triple bottom line" company. This means they care about people and the planet, not just making money. They support many charities and eco-friendly projects. The company is often named one of the best places to work in Canada.

The Story of Nature's Path
The company was founded by Arran Stephens and Ratana Stephens in 1985. They started it in British Columbia, Canada. Their very first product was called Manna Bread. Before Nature's Path, the Stephens family had another company called Lifestream. It started in 1971 and was Canada's first big organic supermarket. They sold many natural products. Lifestream was sold to Kraft in 1981, but the Stephens family bought it back in 1995. In 2018, Nature's Path announced they would move their main office to East Vancouver. Arran and Ratana's son, Arjan, became the President of Nature's Path in 2023.
Growing Organic Foods
Nature's Path believes in organic farming. The company has bought a lot of organic farmland. They own about 2,880 acres in Saskatchewan, Canada. They share this land with family farmers. They also own about 2,760 acres in Montana, USA. This means they own a total of 5,640 acres of organic farmland! Nature's Path also works with many other independent organic family farmers. These farmers grow organic crops on about 100,000 acres. Nature's Path helps these farmers by buying and processing their organic ingredients.
Supporting Non-GMO Foods
Nature's Path has been against GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) since 2001. The founder, Arran Stephens, was an early supporter of the Non-GMO Project. He was even on their board! All Nature's Path products are tested to make sure they can have the Non-GMO Project Verified Seal. This seal shows that the food does not contain GMOs.
The company also helped make a movie called GMO OMG in 2013. They also supported the Right2Know GMO March in 2011. Nature's Path was very active in supporting Proposition 37 in California in 2012. This was a plan to make companies label foods that contained GMOs. Nature's Path gave $600,000 and a lot of time to support this effort. They also supported similar campaigns in Oregon and Colorado in 2014.
