Nazife Güran facts for kids
Nazife Güran (born September 5, 1921 – died December 20, 1993) was a talented Turkish composer. She wrote many pieces of music. Nazife was born in Vienna, Austria. Her father was a diplomat, which means he worked for his country in another land.
Nazife Güran's Early Life and Music Journey
Nazife started learning music when she was very young. Her mother taught her. She went to primary school in Ankara, Turkey. Later, she finished high school in Istanbul.
She loved music so much that she continued her studies at the famous Berlin Music Academy in Germany. There, she learned to play the piano with Rudolph Schmidt. She also studied how to compose music with Paul Hoffer.
After her time in Berlin, Nazife returned to Ankara. She continued to learn from another great musician, Ernst Praetorius.
Family Life and Continued Studies
In 1952, Nazife married Dr. Ismail Yilmaz Güran. The next year, they had a son. Even with a family, Nazife kept learning and growing as a musician. She went to the Cologne Music Academy in Germany to study even more.
When she came back to Turkey in 1969, she started teaching music. She taught at the Cemberlitas Girls' High School. At the same time, she kept working as a composer, creating beautiful new music.

Nazife Güran was a very busy composer. She wrote over a thousand different pieces of music! Her works include many interesting titles. Some of her well-known compositions are:
