Nevil Shed, born on April 26, 1943, is a former American basketball player. He is famous for being part of a history-making college team. He played for the Texas Western Miners, who are now known as the University of Texas at El Paso.

In 1966, his team won the national championship. This was a huge moment in sports history. The Miners were the first team ever to start a championship game with an all-African American lineup. Nevil Shed's basketball nickname was "The Shadow."

Nevil Shed went to Morris High School in New York. After high school, he joined the Texas Western Miners basketball team. The team was coached by Don Haskins.
