Ngallagunda is a medium-sized Aboriginal community located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. It is part of the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley.

Native Title Rights

The Ngallagunda community is located in an area where native title has been officially recognized. This means that the Wanjina-Wunggurr Wilinggin people have special rights to their traditional lands and waters. These rights are protected by Australian law.

How Ngallagunda is Run

The community of Ngallagunda is managed by its own organization called the Ngallagunda Aboriginal Corporation. This group was officially set up on 13 October 1989. It helps the community make decisions and manage its affairs.

Planning for the Future

Ngallagunda has a special plan called Layout Plan No.2. This plan helps guide how the community will grow and develop. It was created following rules for Aboriginal settlements in Western Australia. The community approved the plan on 7 July 2010. The Western Australian Planning Commission also approved it on 14 December 2010. This plan helps make sure the community's future is well-organized.
