Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe (born October 7, 1970) is an American actress and model. She is known for her many roles in movies and TV shows.
Nicole started her acting career in independent films. These included The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995). She also appeared in the movie Boogie Nights (1997).
She has starred in popular films like Blue Streak (1999) and Remember the Titans (2000). Other well-known movies include Brown Sugar (2002) and Almost Christmas (2016).
On television, Nicole played the main role of attorney Teri Joseph in the drama series Soul Food (2000–2004). For this role, she was nominated for five NAACP Image Awards. Later, she joined the cast of the TV show Empire in 2017. Since 2021, she has been starring as Lisa Todd Wexley in the HBO Max series And Just Like That....

Early Life and Education
Nicole Ari Parker was born on October 7, 1970. Her hometown is Baltimore, Maryland. She is the only child of her parents, Susan and Donald Parker.
Nicole went to Roland Park Country School for her high school years. When she was 17, she won an award for Best Actress in a Maryland high school theater contest. She also trained with The Washington Ballet Company. In 1993, she earned an acting degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Acting Career Highlights
Nicole Parker began her acting journey in 1993. Her first screen role was in a TV movie called Other Women's Children. Two years later, she starred in the independent film The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love.
In 1997, she appeared in the comedy-drama Boogie Nights. The next year, she was in the TV film Exiled: A Law & Order Movie. She also acted in other films like 200 Cigarettes (1999) and Blue Streak (1999).
In 2000, Nicole starred with Denzel Washington in the movie Remember the Titans. This role earned her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture nomination. That same year, she began her lead role in the TV series Soul Food. The show was based on a 1997 movie of the same name. The series ran until 2004, and Nicole received many awards nominations for her work.
After Soul Food, she returned to movies. She starred in the romantic comedy Brown Sugar in 2002. She also appeared in Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins (2008) and Black Dynamite (2009).
On television, Nicole starred in the sitcom Second Time Around from 2004 to 2005. In 2010, she was in the legal drama The Deep End. She also made her Broadway debut in 2012. She played the role of Blanche DuBois in the play A Streetcar Named Desire.
From 2014, she was a regular cast member in the crime drama Murder in the First. In 2016, she acted in the comedy-drama film Almost Christmas.
In 2017, Nicole joined the TV show Empire. She played Giselle Barker, first in a recurring role, then as a main character until 2020. She also had a role in Chicago P.D from 2020 to 2021. Since late 2021, she has been starring in And Just Like That.... In 2022, she appeared in the miniseries The Best Man: The Final Chapters.

Nicole Ari Parker is married to actor Boris Kodjoe. They got married in Germany on May 21, 2005.
They have two children together. Their daughter, Sophie, was born in March 2005. Their son, Nicolas, was born in October 2006. The family attends church when they are in Atlanta, Georgia.
