Nina Ruge is a well-known German journalist, TV presenter, and author. She was born in Munich on August 24, 1956. She has had a long and successful career in television and has also written many books.

Early Life and School

Nina Ruge grew up as the daughter of an engineering professor. She went to the Ina-Seidel-Schule in Braunschweig. Her sister, Annette, is a doctor who works with aviation safety. After finishing high school at 17, Nina studied biology and German. She went to TU Braunschweig to become a teacher. She did very well in her final exams.

Starting in Radio and TV

From 1983 to 1987, Nina Ruge taught at a school in Wolfsburg. During this time, she also started working for NDR radio. She was a freelance worker, meaning she worked for herself. In 1987, she moved to Berlin. There, she worked behind the scenes for TV and film. She was a script girl and an assistant director.

Becoming a TV Presenter

In 1988, Nina helped create RIAS-TV. She presented the evening news show called Abendschau. Later, she hosted the morning show Frühstückfernsehen. Nina was brave and often took risks in her career. She would leave popular shows to work on new ones. This allowed her to have more say in how things were done.

Leute heute and Her Famous Saying

One of her most famous shows was Leute heute. This was a daily lifestyle magazine. At first, it was not very popular. But it soon became a huge success. In 1995, they showed the 2000th episode! Nina Ruge ended almost every show with her famous quote: Alles wird gut. This means Everything will turn out fine. This saying became her trademark. She even used it for some of her book titles. In 2006, Nina decided to leave Leute heute. Her last show was on February 3, 2007. She wanted more time for her personal life.

Nina as an Actress and Entrepreneur

In 1999, Nina Ruge appeared in a cinema film. It was called On the Wings of Love [de]. She played a character named Clarissa. She acted alongside famous stars like Maximilian Schell. Since 2020, Nina Ruge has also been an entrepreneur. This means she helps start and run businesses. She invested in a company called Tomorrowlabs GmbH. This company works on skin and hair regeneration. In 2020, she also published her 25th book. It was called Altern wird heilbar (Curing Aging) and became a bestseller in Germany.

She is a patron for a network that helps women and girls with disabilities in Bavaria. In 2005, Nina Ruge received a special honor. A bright orange-red rose was named after her on the island of Mainau.

From 1995 to 1998, Nina Ruge was married to TV producer Stefen Voss. In September 2001, she married Wolfgang Reitzle. He is a top manager of a big international company. Nina Ruge currently lives in Munich.
