Noisy Nora is a fun children's picture book written and illustrated by Rosemary Wells. It was first published in 1973. The story is all about a little mouse named Nora who loves to make a lot of noise! You might also know Nora from the Timothy Goes to School animated TV show.

What is Noisy Nora About?

The main character in the book is Nora, a small mouse. Nora feels like her family isn't paying enough attention to her. To get noticed, Nora starts making a lot of noise. This noise, however, really bothers her family.

Feeling ignored, Nora decides she will run away from home. She then disappears! The house becomes very quiet without Nora's noise. Her family starts to worry that she is truly gone. They search for her everywhere. Finally, they find Nora hiding safely in the broom cupboard.

Noisy Nora on Screen

The popular book Noisy Nora has also been turned into an animated story. In 1998, a company called Weston Woods created this animated version. It used the original pictures from the book. Mary Beth Hert was the narrator, telling Nora's story.

Later, in 2002, this animated story was released on DVD. It was produced by Newvideo and Scholastic. The Noisy Nora animation was part of a collection called "Scholastic Storybook Treasures." This DVD included four other animated stories along with Nora's adventure.
