Playing Football: Noritada Saneyoshi's Career

Saneyoshi was born in Minamiuwa District, Ehime in Japan. After finishing university at Ritsumeikan University, he joined the football club Gamba Osaka in 1995. He quickly became a key player for the team.

His Time at Gamba Osaka

In his early years, Saneyoshi often played as a left side back. He played in many games for Gamba Osaka throughout the 1990s. In 2000, he got an injury, which meant he couldn't play as much.

From 2002, he started playing more often as a center back. During this time, Gamba Osaka finished in third place in the J1 League in both 2002 and 2004. A big moment came in 2005 when his team, Gamba Osaka, won the J1 League championship for the very first time in their history! Saneyoshi played less from 2006 and decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2007 season.

After he stopped playing, Saneyoshi started a new career as a coach. He began coaching at Gamba Osaka in 2008. He worked with the youth team in 2008 and then with the main senior team from 2009 to 2013.

Leading Teams

In 2014, he moved to another club, Nagoya Grampus, where he also worked as a coach. He returned to Gamba Osaka in 2016. That year, he became the manager for their new team, Gamba Osaka U-23, and managed them for one season.

In July 2018, the manager of the U-23 team, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, moved to manage the main Gamba Osaka team. So, Saneyoshi stepped in and became the U-23 team manager again. He left Gamba Osaka at the end of 2018.
