Nuria Amat Noguera, also known as Núria Amat i Noguera in Catalan, was born in 1950. She is a Spanish writer and librarian. She writes in both Spanish and Catalan. In 2011, she won the important Ramon Llull Novel Award.

Early Career and First Books

Before becoming a full-time writer, Nuria Amat worked as a librarian. She also taught library science at the University of Barcelona. Her first published book was a collection of poems called Pan de boda (1979). After that, she started writing essays, short stories, and novels in Spanish.

Writing Style and Famous Books

Nuria Amat's books often explore the ideas of reading and writing. One of her well-known novels is Todos somos Kafka. This book makes readers think about other famous books and how stories are built. A famous writer named Carlos Fuentes called it "magnificent."

But she decided to write the whole book in Catalan first, and then created a Spanish version later.
