O'Chi Brown is a singer and songwriter from Tottenham, London, England. She became known for her dance music hits. Her most famous song was "Whenever You Need Somebody" in 1986.

This song became number one on the US dance music charts. However, it could not become a bigger hit in the US. This was because there were not enough copies of the record for sale.

The famous music producers Stock Aitken Waterman worked with O'Chi Brown. They later used the same song for another English singer, Rick Astley. It became the title song for his first album. O'Chi Brown also recorded a song with Rick Astley called "Learning To Live (Without Your Love)". This song was on her 1986 album, O'Chi. Even though they sang together, the two artists never actually met.
