Famous People and Places

A very important person named Hannah Greenebaum once lived in Oakland. She was an activist in the 1800s who worked hard for women's rights and helped the Jewish community. Her work made a big difference.

You can also find the Monument Baptist Church on Oakwood Boulevard. This church was built a long time ago in the late 1800s. It was designed to look like the famous Trinity Church in Boston, which is pretty neat!

Fun at the Beach

One of the best spots in Oakland is the Oakwood / 41st Street Beach. This beach is part of Burnham Park and is located right on Lake Shore Drive. It's a great place to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
