How the Game Works
Two teams of three kids played against each other. They also competed against nine pre-recorded players. These players were shown on a big screen. The show got its name because you picked players "off the wall."
Rounds 1 and 2: Picking Players
In the first two rounds, one player from each team chose a video player. This player was from the "wall." A short video interview with the chosen player was shown. Then, host Larry Zeno explained the challenge.
The challenge started with a countdown: "5... 4... 3... 2... 1... GO!" The studio player had to beat the video player. Sometimes, they had to do it within a time limit. If the studio player won, their team got points. If they didn't win, no points were given. If there was a tie, the video player always won.
One special video player was called "Double Trouble." If a studio contestant beat this player, their team earned double points!
Points You Could Earn
Rounds | Single Points | Double Points |
---|---|---|
Round 1 | 100 | 200 |
Round 2 | 200 | 400 |
Round 3: The Big Challenge
The last two players from both teams competed in this round. It was called "The Head-to-Head Challenge." They also played against one final video player. First, the video challenger's interview was shown. Then, the challenge was explained and played.
The first studio contestant to beat the video challenger earned 300 points. They got an extra 250 points for beating their studio opponent. If both studio players tied, no points were given.
The team with the most points won the game. They then moved on to play for a grand prize! A team could score a maximum of 1,050 points.
The Ultimate Showdown: Winning Big!
In this bonus round, the winning team played one last game. This time, they played against a member of the studio audience. After the game was explained, the round began.
If any member of the winning team could beat the audience member, they won a grand prize! Each team member got a prize. If they didn't win, the team took home a consolation prize. The audience member also got a chance to return to the show. They would bring two new teammates with them.
