Exploring Ogooué-Ivindo Province
Ogooué-Ivindo is a large province known for its beautiful natural areas. It covers about 46,075 square kilometers. That's a lot of land! In 2013, about 63,293 people lived here.
What are Departments?
Just like a country is divided into provinces, a province can be divided into smaller areas called departments. These departments help manage the different parts of the province. Ogooué-Ivindo is split into four main departments.
Main Towns in the Departments
Each department has its own main town, which acts like its capital. Here are the departments and their main towns:
- Ivindo Department: Its main town is Makokou, which is also the capital of the whole province.
- Lope Department: The main town here is Booué.
- Mvoung Department: This department's main town is Ovan.
- Zadie Department: The main town for this department is Mekambo.
These departments help organize the province and make sure that local needs are met in each area.
