In 1855, a student named Mary Monnett Bain helped the school get money. This money was used to build the college's main building. The school named this building Monnett Hall to honor her.

Monnett Hall and Gardens

Monnett Hall was the heart of the college. It stood in Delaware, Ohio for many years. In the late 1970s, the old building was taken down. Now, a beautiful place called Monnett Gardens is there.

Every April, Ohio Wesleyan University celebrates spring. They hold an event called Monnett Weekend. This event remembers the history of the college and Monnett Hall.
