Old Escobares was a small community located in Starr County, Texas, in the United States. It was known as an unincorporated community. This means it was a group of homes and people living together, but it didn't have its own official city government.
Old Escobares was also once a "census-designated place" (CDP). A CDP is an area that the government counts for population information, but it is not an officially incorporated city or town.
History of Old Escobares
Old Escobares was formed from a part of a larger area called Escobares. When the city of Escobares officially became a city, some parts of the original area were not included. These parts became Old Escobares and another community called Mesquite.
The first time Old Escobares was counted as a separate CDP was during the 2010 census. At that time, it had a population of 97 people. Before the 2020 U.S. Census, Old Escobares became part of the city of Escobares. Because of this, it is no longer listed as a separate CDP.
