With her father's guidance, Olga started playing the piano when she was only four. She was a natural talent. By the time she was twelve, she was already performing in concerts and winning awards. In 1999, she won a top prize at a German music competition for young people called Jugend musiziert.
At just 14 years old, she performed a major piece, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1, with a full orchestra. This concert showed everyone that a new piano star was on the rise.
A Star on the World Stage
Olga's career quickly took off. She has traveled the globe to perform, playing in countries like Poland, Italy, France, Spain, the United States, and many more. She made her U.S. debut in 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, where she played with the San Antonio Symphony.
She often plays in some of the most famous concert halls in the world. These include the Berlin Philharmonie in Berlin and the Kölner Philharmonie in her hometown of Cologne. How Olga Scheps Plays the Piano
Olga Scheps has a special way of connecting with the music she plays. She once said, "To me, music is an extension of my expressivity, the amplification of my language... I am the interpreter." This means she sees music as a way to express her feelings, much like an actress uses a script to bring a character to life.
Her Favorite Music
Olga's repertoire (the collection of pieces a musician can play) is very large. She is especially known for playing music from the Romantic era. This period of music is known for being very emotional and dramatic. She is famous for her performances of works by Frédéric Chopin and Russian composers. People often say she plays with a lot of feeling that can bring tears to the eyes of the audience.
Besides the famous classics, she also enjoys playing lesser-known pieces. This introduces her audience to new and exciting music.

Olga is also a talented chamber musician. This means she performs in small groups with other musicians. She has worked with famous artists like violinist Daniel Hope and cellist Alban Gerhardt.
