Oliver St George (born 1661 – died 15 April 1731) was an important Irish politician. He served in the Irish House of Commons, which was like the parliament of Ireland a long time ago. He helped make laws and decisions for the country.

Oliver St George was born in 1661. His father was Sir Oliver St George, 1st Baronet. His mother was Olivia Beresford. In 1701, Oliver St George married Mary Knox. Her parents were Thomas Knox and Mary Bruce.

Political Career

Oliver St George had a busy political career in Ireland.

Serving in Parliament

In September 1703, he was chosen to represent two areas in the Irish House of Commons. These areas were Carrick and Dungannon. He decided to represent Carrick. The Irish House of Commons was a group of elected people who made laws for Ireland.

Later, in November 1713, he was elected again for Dungannon. He continued to serve as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dungannon until he passed away.

Joining the Privy Council

On 9 October 1714, Oliver St George was given another important role. He was appointed to the Irish Privy Council. This council was a group of trusted advisors to the King or Queen in Ireland. They helped with important government decisions.
