Olli Lindholm (born March 19, 1964 – died February 12, 2019) was a famous Finnish singer and guitarist. He was best known as the lead singer of the popular Finnish rock band Yö. Olli sang with Yö for many years, creating lots of hit songs and albums.
He also released his own solo albums. One of his solo albums, Maailma on kaunis, even reached number one on the Finnish music charts in 2010.
Olli's Music Journey
Olli Lindholm started his music career very young, at just 16 years old. He was interested in punk rock music. He played in several bands when he was starting out.
In 1981, Olli helped create the Finnish rock band Yö. He was a founding member of this band. Over the years, many band members changed, but Olli remained the only original member of Yö for a long time.
He also helped start another Finnish punk band called Appendix in 1982. In this band, he was both a singer and a guitarist.
Awards and TV Shows
Olli Lindholm was a very talented singer. In 2008, he won the Iskelmä-Finlandia award for "Best Finnish singer." This was a big honor for him.
He also appeared on TV shows. In 2011, he was a guest judge on the Finnish version of Idol. He helped choose new singing talents.
Later, he became a judge on The Voice of Finland. He was still working on this show when he sadly passed away in 2019. A book about his life was also written in 2017.
