The Story of Once Upon a Christmas
The movie begins with Santa Claus feeling worried. He notices that many children have become quite naughty. Because of this, Santa thinks about not delivering presents this year. But his kind daughter, Kristin Claus, believes there's still hope for Christmas. She makes a big promise to the people at the North Pole. Kristin says she can change a family from "Santa's Naughty List" to the "Nice List."
Kristin's Mission to the Mortal World
Kristin uses her magic to travel to the human world. Her goal is to visit the Morgan family. This family includes a single dad and his two spoiled children. Kristin plans to help them become nicer. However, Kristin's sister, Rudolfa, has other plans. Rudolfa wants to turn Christmas into a silly, joking holiday. She tricks the Morgan children.
The Morgan Family's Nanny
Kristin is mistaken for a nanny for the children, and she plays along. The children, Brittany and Kyle, do not like Kristin at first. Kyle even tells his dad that Kristin is dangerous. They treat Kristin badly, and she eventually leaves the Morgan house. Their dad, Bill Morgan, has been too busy with work since his wife passed away.
An Unexpected Detour
On a work trip, Bill takes the children and their uncle. They stop at a diner. Kristin uses her magic to meet them there. Bill convinces her to look after the kids during the rest of the trip. Rudolfa then uses her magic to create a fake detour sign. This sends the family far away into the middle of nowhere. She also sends an elf disguised as a deer into the road. This makes their car swerve into a ditch.
A Night in an Old House
The family and Kristin spend the night in an old, empty house nearby. Here, Kristin talks to Bill about his own selfish habits. The kids continue to act spoiled and bratty. But Bill and Kristin decide not to put up with it anymore. Soon, Brittany realizes she is behaving badly. She makes breakfast for everyone using food they found in the house.
A Heroic Sacrifice
During their stay, a fire breaks out in the house. Kyle, the family's son, is almost hurt very badly. Kristin bravely gives up her special immortality to save him. Because of this, she loses all her memories of her past.
