The Oneida Nation School System is a special school for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is located in Oneida, Wisconsin. This school is connected with the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) and serves the children of the Oneida Nation.

The school has a large elementary building with 38 classrooms, covering about 15,000 square meters. There is also a separate building for the high school. In 2001, the high school had just over 100 students.

School History

The elementary school first opened its doors in 1994. The high school followed a year later, opening in 1995. When the elementary school first started, it had about 35 students and between eight to ten staff members.

In January 2007, the leaders of the Oneida Nation and the school decided to close the school for one week. They did this to review and improve school rules. This helped make sure that students could learn in a good and orderly environment.

Sports and Teams

Around 2008, it was sometimes hard for the school's sports teams to have enough players. This was because the school had a smaller number of students. Because of this, some sports teams might not have been able to play every year.

However, in 2008, the high school started a new lacrosse team. Lacrosse is a fast-paced sport played with sticks and a ball. This team began at the junior varsity level, which is a good starting point for new teams.
