The Order of Military Merit (which in Spanish is called Orden del Mérito de Militar) is a special award given to people who serve in the Military of the Dominican Republic. What is the Order of Military Merit?
This special honor is given to members of the Dominican Republic's military. It recognizes their extraordinary service and bravery. The motto of the order is Honour, Virtue, Valor, which means showing respect, doing what is right, and being brave.
Different Types of Awards
The Order of Military Merit has three main types, called "divisions." Each division is shown with a different colored ribbon:
