Ostuacán is a town and a municipality in the southern part of Mexico. It is located in the state of Chiapas. This area is known for its beautiful natural surroundings.

In 2010, the entire municipality of Ostuacán had a total population of 17,067 people. This was a small increase from 17,026 people in 2005. The municipality covers an area of 946.4 square kilometers (about 365 square miles).
Towns and Villages
The main town, also called Ostuacán, had a population of 2,979 people in 2010. Besides the main town, the municipality has 111 other smaller communities. Many of these are rural villages.
Some of the largest villages in 2010 included:
- Nuevo Juan del Grijalva (with 1,598 people)
- Plan de Ayala (with 1,463 people)
- Nuevo Xochimilco (with 1,393 people)
These larger villages are considered rural areas.
