Osvaldo Sosa (born January 26, 1945 – died July 6, 2020) was a famous Argentine football player and manager. He was known for his long career in football, both on the field and leading teams from the sidelines. He managed many clubs, including Atlético Tucumán.

Playing Career

Osvaldo Sosa started his football journey in 1964. His first club was Almagro. In 1966, he joined Argentinos Juniors, a team in Argentina's top league.

He played over 100 games for Argentinos Juniors during two different periods. Sosa also played for other well-known clubs. These included Independiente and Ferro Carril Oeste.

Managerial Career

Sosa first became a manager while still playing. He was a player-coach for Argentinos Juniors from 1970 to 1971. He returned to manage Argentinos Juniors five more times throughout his career. These periods were in 1974, 1981, 1992–94, 1997-2000, and 2004-05.

He also managed two other clubs where he had played. He led Almagro in 1980-81. Later, he managed Independiente in 2003.

Osvaldo Sosa managed many other football clubs too. He had two spells as manager of Mandiyú. He also managed teams like Tigre, Huracán, and Colón. Other clubs he managed include Deportivo Armenio, Racing Club, Talleres, Chacarita Juniors, Lanús, Quilmes, and Atlético Tucumán.
