Other Ocean Interactive is a company that creates video games. They have offices in two countries: Canada and the United States. This company makes its own games and also helps other game developers. They have worked on many different games over the years.
How Other Ocean Started
From One Company to Another
In 2006, a large video game company called Foundation 9 Entertainment opened a new studio. This studio was located in Charlottetown, Canada. It was named Backbone Charlottetown.
About a year later, one of the founders, Andrew Ayre, left Foundation 9. He decided to buy the Backbone Charlottetown studio. In May 2007, the studio became its own company. It was renamed Other Ocean Interactive. By 2008, the company set up its main office in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Games They Have Made
Other Ocean Interactive has developed many games. They have also helped other companies with their games. Here are some examples of the games they have worked on:
- Super Monkey Ball (2008): This fun game was made for the iPhone.
- Dark Void Zero (2010): A game released for the Nintendo DSiWare.
- The Simpsons: Tapped Out (2012): A popular game for Android devices.
- Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition (2017): They helped bring the famous building game to the New Nintendo 3DS.
- Project Winter (2019): This is a survival game where players work together but also try to betray each other. It was released for Windows and later for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2021.
- MediEvil (2019): They created a new version of this classic PlayStation game from 1998.
- The Walking Dead: Betrayal (2023): A game launched in Early Access for Windows.
They also worked on games like Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation and Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist. These games are based on the popular card game.
