Pablo Díaz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father was Spanish and had moved to Argentina for work. Pablo later moved to Spain, where he became a professional footballer.
Playing in Spain's Top League
Pablo played in La Liga, which is Spain's highest football league. He played 330 games and scored six goals over 13 seasons. He started his career with Sporting de Gijón.
His first game in La Liga was on September 23, 1990. He came into the game as a substitute when Sporting Gijón played against Athletic Bilbao. Sporting Gijón won that game 3–1 at their home stadium, El Molinón.
